You’ve probably heard about us through our popular adaptive surfing events called Wheel to Surf, but did you know that we also offer adaptive kayaking from time to time?
That’s right - every now and then you’ll find an adaptive kayaking event on our calendar! We take groups out on the Waccamaw River to enjoy a day of kayaking led by the friendly folks at Horry County Parks and Recreation.
If you’ve ever been to an event with Coastal Adaptive Sports before, then you’ll know we’re a dedicated team that takes special care to ensure all of our participants feel safe and have fun. That’s no different with our adaptive kayaking excursions - we’ll work closely with you so that you feel confident out on the water.
If you’ve never been to one of our kayaking events, then we highly recommend you check it out since we don’t have them as often as our surfing events. And, if you haven’t been to one of our surfing events, then we highly recommend that as well!
Though many people who happen to have a disability may feel a little hesitant to get in the water at a kayaking or surfing event, we’re here to let you know that there’s no reason to be afraid! Our team members and volunteers will guide you through the process and be along your side every step of the way. We’ve seen firsthand how these activities have had a positive impact on hundreds of people throughout the years, so we know you’ll love it, too!
If you’re interested in adaptive kayaking or surfing, be sure to check out our events calendar for new events throughout the year. If you have questions, feel free to reach out and we’ll be happy to help!
